My name is Jonathan Jennings and I have lived in San Angelo, TX since 2011. I began mountain biking in 2014 when I became addicted and now race Cat 1 with the Texas Mountain Biking Racing Association (TMBRA). I finished 2nd overall in Cat 2 in the 30-34 age group before moving up to Cat 1 in 2017 where I had to work my way to being completive. During the 2019/2020 marathon season, I finished second at the Palo Duro Canyon Marathon and Miles of Discomfort Marathon with 2 other top 5 finishes. This led me to a 3rd place series finish in the 30-39 age group. Coming off those races, I won the first 2 races of the spring cross county series before COVID took over. Since, I have been active in working with our cycling community mainly in the way of trail maintenance and trail building. I will be taking over the lead volunteer role this winter for trail work done at San Angelo State Park. Coming off an injury, I have plans to begin racing this fall/winter before turning it on for the spring series starting in May. My goal this season is to race at the Go Pro Mountain games in Vail, CO. I am a self-proclaimed “desert rat” and love riding on rocks across the desert southwest. My wife and I take annual trips to Tucson, AZ as well as Sedona, AZ with trips coming up shortly. We both use the Momentous product Amp Human almost daily and cannot ride without it! Professionally, I am an operational meteorologist with a relaxed schedule in the fall and winters.
